Obituary for Janet Brooks
Janet Sue Brooks, longtime resident of Eastpointe, died peacefully April 1, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family. She was 65 years of age.
Janet was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on March 23, 1952, daughter of the late Roy and Juanita (Scherkl) Brooks. She was blessed with three children of whom she loved and cherished. Janet was a Nurses Aide for Martha T. Berry Nursing Home and retired on January 10, 2014 from McLaren Macomb after many years of dedicated years. She was very generous and wanted the best for our world; and she spent a lot of her time volunteering at Harvest of Humanity, Divine Mercy and Lighthouse Missions. When she wasn't working or volunteering, you could find her making crafts, gardening and landscaping in the warm summer months. Janet wore many hats during her lifetime, but the one she loved to wear most was being a mother and grandmother. Although we grieve her passing, we are grateful for Janet who has taught us to be more kind and giving. Her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
Janet is the loving mother of Richard (Trisha) Schaffner, James (Tina) Schaffner and Rachel Sherman; cherished grandmother of Erika, Victoria, Richie, Jackson, Andrew and Lilyana; great grandmother of Charlotte May; and beloved sister of Roger (Pat) and Sandy Lee Brooks.
