George Wendland, commonly known as Geo. longtime resident of Roseville, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 11, 2018. He was 74 years of age.
George was born on September 4, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Hugo and Eleanore (Bidzinski) Wendland. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Diane Bellcoff, on May 16, 1964 in Our Savior Lutheran Church of Detroit. The couple made their home in Roseville and was blessed with three beautiful children of whom they loved and cherished. Geo worked for Ford Motor Company for 37 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved bowling, softball and his occasional trips to Hooters. Geo adored his grandchildren and was their biggest fan in sports and life in general. He will always be known for his big heart and his giving hand. Above all, Geo was a family man who always put his family first and made sure they were well provided for. He will be deeply missed and the love and compassion he extended to others will always be remember.
George is the devoted and loving husband of the late Diane; dearest father of George (Niki), Ellen (Harold) Miller, and Kia (Matthew) Zygaj; cherished Papa of Karisa, Dru, Brandon, Matthew, Kole, McKenzie and the late Daxx; and beloved brother of Phylis Dereniak. He is also survived by many special friends who became part of our family.
