Alice Combetta (Sainsbury/Schultz)
Alice Marie Combetta, resident of Eastpointe, died peacefully March 29, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family. She was 83 years of age.
Alice was born on June 20, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Max and Velma (Scoffin) Sainsbury. She was blessed with two children, Al and Marie, of whom she loved and cherished. She worked for Grace Hospital for over 20 years in the business office retiring in 1998. Alice was united in marriage to David Combetta on September 20, 2014 at Assumption Grotto of Detroit. The couple made their home in Eastpointe.
Alice loved crafts. She was known as the "Sock Monkey Lady" and loved making Halloween costumes for the children. She was a sewing expert and made many Barbie and American Girl clothing. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many American Flags. Alice was a sweet and loving woman who enjoyed making people smile. She will be deeply missed.
Alice is the loving wife of David; dearest mother Al (Denise) Schutz and Marie (Thomas) Dubensky; cherished grandmother of Adam (Emily), Lindsey (Bob), Hayley, Matthew and Emma; beloved great grandmother of Caroline; and dear sister of Maxine (James) Castiglioni, Frank (Marge) Sainsbury and Allen (the late Karen) Sainsbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
Private burial held in White Chapel Cemetery.
