Obituary for Robert Ahl
Robert Dean Ahl, longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully March 29, 2017. He was 91 years of age.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 2, 1925, son of the late Irvin and Helen (Will) Ahl. He was drafted in the U.S Navy in July 6, 1942 and served our country proudly and honorably during the WWII. Bob was united in marriage to his beautiful wife, Marion Dion, on November 25, 1953 and the couple made their home in Fraser. Bob worked for Thompson Cain Meat Packing Company for many years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Fraser VFW post 6691. He was a Mason of the Roseville Masonic Temple Lodge #522 and was a a charter member of the Moslem Shrine Temple Newsboy's Club. Bob loved golfing in the warm summer months and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He also enjoyed bingo. Bob was a wonderful man with a big heart and will be deeply missed.
Bob is the loving husband of the late Marion; dear brother of Joanne Contera and the late Jerry Ahl; beloved uncle of Debbie Cerasoli, Terry Legato and the late Jeri Broadwell and Robert Ward; great uncle to many great nieces and nephews; and cherished friend to Pamela David and Marilyn Lane.
Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Saturday 10am until the time of funeral service at 1pm. Private burial will be held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens, Clinton Township. Memorials may be addressed to the Fraser VFW. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
