Obituary for Francis "Bud" Gibbons
Francis Gibbons, commonly known as Bud, longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully March 31, 2017. He was 73 years of age.
Francis was born on April 29, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late John and Ester (Crum) Gibbons. He was united in marriage to his wife, Diane Patricia Renke and the couple was blessed with three sons of whom he loved and cherished. In 1976, Frances started a company called Flag Fire Protection in which he and his friend, Tom Rupp, became partners for years. Later, he taught his sons, Robert, Eric and Kurt about the business and soon retired. He loved to go on his boat with family and friends. He also enjoyed catching a lot of fish on that boat. Francis liked golfing in the warm summer months and he even got a hole in one. In the winter months, he was on a bowling team. He always looked forward to family picnics, the feast of Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday. Francis always was there to lend a helping hand and was very generous to others in need. Through all he went through towards the end of his life, Frances remained strong and never complained. Above all, he loved his family, enjoyed his grandchildren and his latest great granddaughter. He will be deeply missed.
Francis is the husband of Diane; loving father of Robert (Maria), Eric and Kurt; cherished grandfather of five grandchildren and one great granddaughter; and dear brother of Bill (Dianne) Gibbons.
