Obituary for Duane Smith (Champion)
Duane Kay Smith, a longtime resident of Dearborn, died peacefully early Saturday morning at the age of 78 years.
Duane was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 6, 1938, the daughter of the late Gerald H. and Pearl (Porter) Champion. Duane was retired from the Tompkins Printing Company, where she had served as the bookkeeper for over 25 years. She loved serving her Lord and Savior by singing in the choir of the Dearborn Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed walking and was an avid shopper who prided herself as a loving and Christian mother to her son and grandchildren and living by the motto “Treat others as you wish to be treated and always act with the highest degree of integrity.
Duane is survived by her loving son Daryl, her loving daughter-in-law, Jennifer and her adoring grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, and Autumn. She was preceded in death by her little angel granddaughter, Amber and her sister, Carol Molitor.
Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Wednesday from 10am till time of services at 12noon. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
