Obituary for Stephanie Warunek
Stephanie Irene Warunek, longtime resident of Clinton Township, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was 92 years of age.
Stephanie was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on January 10, 1925, daughter of the late Tony and Helen (Wieneski) Sudol. She was united in marriage to her beloved Chester and the couple was blessed with five sons of whom she loved and cherished. The couple built their forever home in Clinton Township in 1957 and this is where they would raise their family and make memories. Stephanie loved to entertain at her home and was known for her delicious cooking. She enjoyed spending summers, in the earlier years, at Harsens Island at the Warunek Family cottage and, later, at their cottage on Lake James in Prudenville, Michigan. Every August, she looked forward to the Annual Warunek Family Reunion on Harsens Island. Stephanie also enjoyed her occasional trips to the casinos with her husband and, later, with her children. Other favorite pastimes included bowling, golf and pinochle. After her children were grown, she began a 13-year career at Ford Motor Company. She retired and started working with her husband and son, Randy, at their company Raw Windows & Doors, in Fraser, for 18 years as secretary and professional screen roller. Stephanie will always be known for her positive outlook on life and her caring and supportive love. Though we grieve her passing, we know that Stephanie has left us for a better life free from all pain and care. We are eternally thankful for our loving mother, grandmother and friend who taught us to be more loving and genuine people by the life she led. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those that she has left behind.
Stephanie is the beloved wife of the late Chester; loving mother of Ronald (Deborah), Robert (Donna), Randolph (Mary), Lawrence (Julie Allen) and Martin; dear daughters-in-law, Julie Demsky and Barbara DelMoral; cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Sara), Kurt, Amy, Robert Jr. (Andrea), Courtney (Arthur), Lindsay (Neil), Rebecca, Nicholas (Lindsay), Lawrence Jr. (Carrie) and Candace (Randall); dearest great grandchildren, Harrison, Chelsea, Ethan, Caelan, Hunter and Kennedy; and beloved brother Andrew (Janet) Chwan; and very many nephews and nieces.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Malachy Catholic Church of Sterling Heights on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 1pm. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
