Betty Foulkes (Miller)
Betty Ellen Foulkes, longtime resident of Sterling Heights, died peacefully September 30, 2017. She was 93 years of age.
Betty was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 3, 1924, daughter of the late George and Grace (Whyte) Miller. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Lorain, on December 24, 1943 in Detroit. The couple resided in Detroit until making their home in Sterling Heights in 1978. They were blessed with four beautiful children of whom they loved and cherished. Betty dedicated her life to her family and made sure they were raised with Christian values in a loving home. She loved the Lord and always served by being active in her church and volunteering where needed. Betty had an outgoing and loving personality and loved entertaining at her home, making everyone feel welcomed and special. She loved music and enjoyed going to musicals at the Royal Oak and Macomb Theaters. Betty was also an avid reader. Above all, she cared deeply about her family and taught by example. Betty will always be known for her sweet smile, her kindness and politeness. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
Betty is the loving and devoted wife of the late Lorain; cherished mother of David (Penny), Kathy-Ellen (the late Michael) North, William and the late Robert; dearest grandchildren of Kim (Tom), Thomas (Meredith), Steven, Tracey (Michael), Jennifer (Chris), Robert and Jasmine; adored great grandmother of Katie, Anna, Emma, Bethany, Jake, Elizabeth, Aston and Sarah; and sister of the late Dorman Parker Miller.
Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Sunday October 8, 2017, from 2pm until the time of funeral at 4pm. Memorial contributions may be addressed to the Great Lakes Hospice appreciated. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
