Obituary for Mildred Foster Burns
Mildred Ann Foster Burns, a 20 year resident of Clinton Twp. died peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family on August 2, 2017. She was 88 years of age.
Mildred was born on March 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert and Ada Towle. She was married to her husband William Foster for over 47 years before his death on October 17,1994. She was later wed to the late Robert Burns. Millie was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. She was a great homemaker, cook (noted for her wonderful Chop Suey), and was a Coke product collector even though she enjoyed Pepsi. She enjoyed the slots and her trips to the casino. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Millie was also a devout Catholic who enjoyed attending Mass at St. Ronald Catholic Church in Clinton Township. She was be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Millie is survived by her loving children, Judy (Glen) Alda, Joyce (Pete) Tranchida), Cathy Foster, Wayne Foster, Steven Foster, and step-daughter Arvella Burns. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Millie was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5pm till time of memorial service at 6pm at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Michigan 48026. A memorial dinner is to follow the service at the St. Clair Shores Knights of Columbus Hall. A private internment will take place at Lake Orion Cemetery at a later date.
