Charles Philip Reynolds, resident of Shelby Township, went to his heavenly home on August 5, 2017. He was 83 years of age.
Charles was born on March 19. 1934 on Sigourney, Iowa, son of the late Charles and Kathleen Opal (Wright) Reynolds. He was United in marriage to his beloved wife, Ruth Matis, on May 1, 1959 in Grosse Pointe Baptist Church of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. The couple first resided in California until making their home in Warren in 1966. He was a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota. Charles enjoyed working and was a Forensic Engineer and began a career working for NASA Space Program making Booster Rockets. He then went out on his own doing private investigations for many years. Charles was a man of God who focused his life on serving the Lord and God's children. In the mid-80's, he was co-founder and chairman of Macomb Christian School of Warren and was instrumental to making the school grow through many tireless hours of work and dedication. Charles was very active in his church, which was Redeemer Baptist Church, now, Woodside Bible Church and held many positions throughout his time there. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed woodworking and loved making and refurbishing furniture. Charles always had a helping hand to give and was known as "Charlie the Handyman" around his condo complex. Above all, Charlie lived his life with love and purpose and has now won the crown of victory. "To God be the Glory" (A song in which our Charlie loved.)
Charles is the loving and devoted husband of 58 years to Ruth; cherished father of Steven and the late John Reynolds; dearest father-in-law of Jennifer Reynolds; and brother of David (Myrna) and the late Jane Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Friday from 2pm - 8pm. A funeral will be celebrated at Woodside Bible Church of Troy on Saturday at 11am with Pastor Vince Messina officiating. Additional visitation will be held from 10am until the time of funeral. Funeral luncheon will follow in the Church social hall.
