Obituary for Dennis "D1" Brookshire

Dennis "D1"  Brookshire
Dennis "D1" Brookshire, a 14 year resident of Warren, was entered into Heaven in St. John Hospital of Detroit on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the age of 66 years.

Dennis was born in Detroit on October 24,1951, a son of the late Harold and Mary Jane (Webb) Brookshire. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, JoAnn on July 21,1984 in Warren. The couple first made their home down river before moving to Chesterfield Twp. and then to Warren in 2004. Dennis worked as a truck driver and was employed for the last 13 years with Ryder Truck of Highland Park. He was a lover of NASCAR, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, golfing and fishing. Dennis was known for his sense of humor and was quite a jokester. He loved rock and blues music and most of all his family, especially his grandchildren. Dennis enjoyed cooking chili and spicy food and always called his family and friends with nicknames. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; his devoted children,Teresa Brookshire-Haynes, William (Meghon) and Matthew D. Brookshire; his loving grandchildren, Anthony, Aubrey, Ace, Rowen, Riley and Dennis II. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Rhonda and Rebecca and sister-in-law, Sandra Foltin.

Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2pm till 8pm and Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 10am till time of funeral services at 11am. Inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors for his service in the U.S. Marine Corps at a later date.
