On Friday, December 18, 2020, Elizabeth Theresa Esser (nee Berhorst), devoted wife, sister, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 88.

Elizabeth was born on October 12, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Bernard and Maria Berhorst. She married Frank Esser, her husband of 68 years, on October 4, 1952. They were longtime residents of Fraser, Michigan and one of the founding families of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. They raised 4 boys and 4 girls; a family that gave her 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A faithful and dedicated Catholic, she donated her time and talents to her church communities, as well as several charities that were dear to her, including the Imago Dei Crisis Pregnancy Center in Detroit.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Catherine. She is survived by her husband Frank, her children Charles (Debra), Leanne Harker (Paul), Geralyn Nash (James), Timothy (Linda), Thomas (Anne), Frank (Victoria), Elizabeth (Gary), her brother Edward (Nancy) Berhorst of Apache Junction, Arizona, and her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township, on Wednesday, December 23 at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will take place at Faulmann & Walsh Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, on Tuesday, December 22, from 2-8 PM, with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. Face masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan.
