W.H. (Fred) Neumann, resident of Clinton Township and former longtime resident of St. Clair Shores, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 6, 2021. He was 86 years of age.
Fred was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 12, 1934, son of the late Hans and Margaret (Staat) Neumann He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Frances Anne Hoban, on December 28, 1957 in Detroit. The couple made their home in St. Clair Shores in 1965 until moving to Clinton Township in 1999. They were blessed with three wonderful children of whom they loved and cherished. Fred was a Civil Engineer for Chrysler Corporation for over 30 dedicated years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, he enjoyed working with Harley Ellis for many years on several engineering projects. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed being out on the water fishing. Fred, alongside his wife, loved traveling the world and experiencing the food and cultures of all countries. He absolutely loved and adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment in their company. He was a great storyteller who had a wonderful sense of humor. Fred has touched many lives and made friends everywhere he went. He will be deeply missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
Fred is the devoted husband of the late Frances Anne; dearest father of Karla (Michael) Hartel, Steven (Joan) Neumann and Lisa (Thomas) Agan; cherished grandfather of Phillip (Holly), James, Joseph, Samantha, Jenna, Lindsey and Tracy; adored great grandfather of Mary Anne and Frederick; and dear brother of the late Sonja (Eugene) Ferries.
