Frances Joan Seiferlein, known to most as "Joan", longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully May 3, 2020. She 84 years of age.

Joan was born on July 6, 1935 in New Baltimore Michigan, daughter of the late Raymond and Kathryn (Goulette) Trombley. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Donald J. Seiferlein, on August 23, 1958 in Zion Grace United Church of Christ in Fraser. The couple made their home in Fraser and was blessed with two children of whom she loved and cherished. Joan worked for the Fraser Public Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1997. She was an avid reader who loved her family and treasured every moment shared in their company. Joan will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Joan is the loving wife of the late Donald; cherished mother of Jeffery (Amy) Seiferlein and Julie Nank; beloved grandmother of Mary Shelley Nank; and sisiter of the late Mary Jane Karash, and Raymond and John Trombley.

Jeff, Amy, Jules & Mary -
I'm so deeply sorry to learn of Joan's passing. She was such a beautiful light and special 'mom' of us teens. When I think of her I remember sweetness, a creative groovy flair, wrangling teens in the backyard pool or basement with an easy, lighthearted hand ... even amidst our antics. She was extremely accepting of everyone and each of us, regardless of what level of conformity we adopted. Simply just a beautiful soul. Much love to all of you and Godspeed to Joan. xo

I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has stopped here to leave a message for my mom. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother. She lived for her family and always made sure we had what we needed. She had an unending supply of band-aids and kisses for scraped knees, told an endless inventory of nighttime stories before bed, and chased away all of the monsters into the night. I feel so blessed to have been adopted by such a loving couple- there simply are no words. I always tell people that if any couple was the picture of true love, it was my mom and dad. To grow up alongside my brother, Jeff, as a part of that much love, makes me realize how very blessed I am.
Once again, thank you to everyone for leaving such kind words for such a loving woman.
Love To All,
Jules Nank (aka Julie Seiferlein)
