Bob was born on July 22, 1927 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Barend and Cornelia (nee Terbeck) Bosman. When he was a young man, Bob earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and later went on to serve his country honorably during the Second World War in the United States Navy. He later met and married the love of his life, Dolores Marie McKim, on October 14, 1950 at St. David Catholic Church in Detroit. The couple made their first home in Detroit before settling in Mt. Clemens. Bob worked in many positions, from Uniflex, Inc., owning and operating The Li'l Dutch Pantry with his wife, Dolores, as a salesman at Sears, and in security at Detroit Bank & Trust and the Federal Reserve. While doing security work at Chrysler, Bob and Dolores purchased Cook's Lamp Shop in Roseville in 1966. Bob owned and operated the store with his family until his retirement in 1992. Outside of his work, Bob enjoyed woodworking, (crafting a beautiful cradle for his son Bob's first child), flying planes as a young man and newlywed (one memorable flight was with his then-fiance Dolores as they flew under the Ambassador Bridge against River traffic), landscaping, hunting with his son Bob, and reading many different genres. He also enjoyed spending time in northern Michigan in his retirement. He was a true family man who loved his entire family. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Dolores; cherished children Claudia (John) Ross, Robert Bosman and his fiance Cyndi Craig, Marcia (Brian) Connolly, beloved grandchildren Gary, Kati, Christopher, Daniel, Michael, Sarah, and the late Maggie; and twelve adoring great-grandchildren (their Great-Papa). Bob is also survived by nephews, Hank Carabelli and Russell Glide, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Hennie Carabelli.
