Lavora Joyce Dubey, known to most as Lee, died peacefully in the care of her family on August 1, 2019. She was 91 years of age.

Lee was born on September 30, 1927 in Alpena, Michigan, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hompstead. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Eugene Dubey, on August 16, 1947 in Alpena, Michigan. The couple first made their home in Detroit, moving to St. Clair Shores for over 40 years before moving to Clinton Twp. in 2002. Lee dedicated her life to her family and was the epitome of a great mother and devoted wife. Her family always came first and she made sure her children were raised with Christian values in a loving home. Lee had a kindred spirit and a heart of gold. She was very active at her church, Assembly of God of St. Clair Shores, always helping where she was needed. Lee was an avid reader who enjoyed a good game of scrabble or just relaxing with a crossword puzzle. She was known for her home cooking and was an excellent baker. Lee has now rejoined her husband in Heaven above, free from any pain or worries. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.

Lee is the loving and devoted wife of the late Eugene; dearest mother of David (Nancy) Dubey, Diane (Dennis) Wegner, Janet (Robert Sheridan) Weaver, Debbie (Dave) Hargis, Judy (Dave) Mazzie, Joyce (Joe) Marinello and Roger (Pat) Dubey; cherished grandmother of many adored grandchildren, beautiful great-grandchildren and dear great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am. Luncheon to follow at the Infinity Hall of Fraser. Inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Share memories at

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom “”Lee” . My sincere condolences. Lee and Eugene like our parents Loretta and William Hughes found a way to create a welcoming family environment and fostered a safe haven to raise large family. I remember great times with Lee’s family making sure we had enough acreage for all family members and Eugene smiles. Your mom was awesome 👍
