Obituary

John Edward Frantzen Sr., commonly known to most as Eddie, a longtime resident of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2019. He was 71 years old.

Eddie was born on September 28, 1947 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to John M. and Constance (nee Gotwald) Frantzen. He met and married his beloved wife Delores (after an unforgettable first date) on June 5, 1982. Together, they were blessed with four wonderful children, whom Eddie always loved and cherished. He worked for many years as a toolmaker for General Motors before enjoying his retirement. Outside of his work, he enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows, watching television and Old Western's and especially cherished time spent with his family. Eddie's deep faith brought him strength and courage during his illness, and was comforted by the love he felt from his church family. He also had an unforgettable sense of humor and was always joking with those around him. Eddie was a truly courageous man who would let nothing stop him, even into the final days of his life. His smile and kindness will truly be missed by all who knew him, but memories of him will continue on in all who loved him.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife Delores; cherished children Carrie Frantzen, Amanda Frantzen, John Frantzen, and Colby Keene; loving grandchildren Anna, Piper, Alaina, Jemma, Henry, and Bonnie; siblings Joyce Trerice and Timothy (Rhonda) Frantzen; sisters-in-law Donna Frantzen, Cindy Cheek, Irene Wood, Connie Joseph and Elnora Guy; best friend, Rock (Diane) Adams; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James and Thomas and brother-in-law, Steve Cheek.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 1-7pm with a funeral service at 7pm at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Michigan 48026.

Give us this day our daily bread.. Just an all around GOOD GUY a gentle soul. A Successful man that took care of his family.. something I strive everyday to be. A role model. A loving husband, brother, son, father- but most of all a best friend to all he touched! Down to Earth straight up stand up Dude! I wanna personally thank you for raising an AWESOME daughter in ReRe she has been my guiding light through many of nights never turned her back always has been a Big Sis to me and without you I wouldn't have had that good solid figure in my life. When I was lost she listened.. when I couldnt walk she carried me with words of motivation determination and gratitude. All traits that she inherited from her Father. It's a shame we didnt get to shake hands and shoot the bull.. but we will get our day to make music and dance in the sky one day. Til then.. I just wanna say Thank you- You are a great man and there should absolutely be no doubt that you did everything right.. even if you felt it was wrong. May God bless you and your family thru this trying time! And when we look up at night and say our prayers.. may you be the brightest star until we share light!! In jesus name I pray Derrick Schumann aka Infinity Squared (REST IN PARADISE) YOU DESERVE IT!! WATCH OVER YOUR DAUGHTERS YOUR SON AND YOUR LOVING WIFE AS WELL AS ALL OF US. AS WE CONTINUE OUR JOURNEYS HERE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN! GOD BLESS AMEN

I don't really know you but I feel I do because your daughter ReRe and I have become friends and "sisters" many years ago because of her beautiful soul wanting to help others...I do believe from what she has always said and talked about you that she got her strength and love for others from you. Your daughter had always shared her beautiful family with us and so many stories about the amazing things that you have done and how you have been there for them always and that they all are stronger because you taught how to do that and how to love everyone ...I want to ask you to please look down over all your family and friends today because this is going to be a day like no other....I also would like to ask you to walk beside ReRe for the next few months and please hold her hand because she is going to need your strength to get her through this. I do believe that you are an amazing man because you are so loved and that is the greatest legacy anyone could leave their families...RIP...
