Nelson Richard Tracy, a resident of Sterling Heights, died peacefully, surrounded by the love of family in his home following a long illness. He was 75 years of age.

Nelson was born in Detroit on December 6, 1943, the son of Roy and Bertha (Baldwin) Tracy. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sharon Lee Ptacnik on September 5, 1964 in the First Baptist Church of Troy. The couple first made their home in Warren and finally in Sterling Heights in 1966. He was a member of the Roofers Local 149 Union and had started in the roofing business as a teen working for the Milbrand Roofing Company of Warren until retirement at the age of 55. Nelson loved baseball, playing in his younger years and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He liked cutting his lawn and showed great pride in it, loved his family time and helping at Sterling Woods Party Store. He was a loving and caring person who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
