James Charles Sharpe, died peacefully December 7, 2019 surrounded by the love of his family. He was 87 years of age.

James was born on September 9, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late James and Matilda (Farrah) Sharpe. He served our country honorably in the Army of the United States during the Korean War. James was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Carolyn, on April 15, 1953 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The couple made their home in Fraser in 1957 and their union was blessed with two wonderful children of whom they loved and cherished. He worked for Ford Motor Company as an engineer, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service.

The couple fell in love with Higgins Lake; and started building their retirement home in 1972 and moved up permanently in 1992. James enjoyed being out on the water, fishing and his time out on the golf course. He was quite the handyman and could fix anything he set his mind to. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 004 and the UAW local 400.

Above all, James was a family man who treasured every moment shared in their company. He will be greatly missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

James is the loving husband of the late Carolyn; dearest father of James (Laurie) Sharpe and the late Karen Rich; beloved father-in-law of Randy (Vickie) Rich; cherished grandfather of Lynn, Stacy and Joel; dear great grandfather of Lillian Jane; and dear brother of Sharon.

A celebration of James life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020, from 12noon - 3pm with service and meal at 1pm, at the Infinity Hall, 16650 E. 14 Mile Road, Fraser. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to the Season's Hospice or to the Alzheimer Association.
