Marie C. Kapala, resident of Clinton Township, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on January 3, 2020. She was 89 years of age.

Marie was born in Ubly, Michigan on November 29, 1930, daughter of John and Albena (Rutkowski) Wrobel. She was united in marriage to her beloved Eugene on February 18, 1950. The couple was blessed with six beautiful children of whom they loved and cherished. Marie dedicated her life to her family and was the epitome of a great mother, devoted wife and a wonderful grandmother. Her family always came first and she made sure her children were raised with Catholic values in a loving home. Marie had a kindred spirit and a heart of gold. She was a strong and hardworking woman who was the first woman Stock Chaser for Chrysler Corporation, retiring after over 30 years of dedication. After retirement, the couple made their home in Lake, Michigan for 30 years enjoying the company of each other and the beauty of nature. Marie enjoyed bingo and loved her trips to the casino. She will always be known for her smile and generosity. Marie will be deeply missed and will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
Marie is the dearest mother of Teresa Jorgensen, Eugene (Bernice) Kapala, James (Deborah) Kapala, Cindy (David) Hassar and Renee (Lafe) Kapala; cherished grandmother of Jacquelene, Justin (Monica), Jerrad (Kristen), Matthew (Amy), Jeanine (Ronald), Freddie (Dori), Melissa, Jaymie, Elizabeth (Darren), Nicholas, Brian, Brandi (Wayne), Miranda (Ryan), Christian (Cassie), Leah, Jason (Candace), Jeremy (Christina) and Craig (Charissa); great grandmother of 32 beautiful great grandchildren; and dear sister of Ernest (Mabel) Wrobel. Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene; dear daughter, Cheryl; and brothers, Kenneth, William, Ralph and Charlie.
Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Tuesday from 2pm - 8pm with a 7pm Scripture Service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10am with additional visitation at 9:30am. Memorial contributions may be addressed to St. Jude's.
