Obituary

Reverend David Bruce Swartz, Resident of Warren, was received into the loving arms of Jesus suddenly Friday evening, May 15, 2020, in Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital of Warren, He was 69 years of age.

David was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, on January 26, 1951, the only son of the late Twing and Grace (Hobaugh) Swartz. He attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his degree to go on to receive his Masters degree at Southern University of Louisville, Kentucky. David was united in marriage to his beloved wife Wandena Sisk on August 14, 1974 in Northside Church of Christ of High Point, North Carolina. The couple made their first home in Louisville, Kentucky moving to Dubuque, Iowa where he first pastored for over 10 years. David and family moved to Warren in 1990 where he was the loving Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. David loved balloon sculpturing, hiking, writing, and was an avid reader. He was a very outgoing, loving and devout Christian who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Wandena; his loving children, Steven (Anna) and Karen (Matthew) Owen; his cherished and loved grandchildren, Claire, Noelle, and Liza Swartz, Marcella, Abi, Judah, and Shiloh Owen.

Private services where rendered by the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser. A life celebration and service will be held at a later date.
