Betty seemed to make everyone feel special.
She was a wealth of knowledge when it came to plants.
She knew all the names of flowers as well as the weeds.
She taught me a lot when I volunteered at the Baumgartner house.
She will surely be missed.

Auntie Betty was more than just my Godmother, she was there to guide me when I was younger through her gardens and introduced me to the wonderful world that contained tomato sandwiches, with fresh tomatoes from her garden. Later, she would step in to help where my mother left off, advising me on life and helping me find my way. She was more than my mom’s best friend, she was more than a Godmother, she was my friend. I will miss her more than words can ever say. Fly high Auntie Betty and give my mom a hug for me! I love you both!

I chose volunteering at the Baumgarten House gardens for 13 years because of Betty. I totally enjoyed working under her direction. She was an extremely knowledgeable gardener. She could identify every plant and weed anywhere. She had such an outgoing personality with a great Polish sense of humor by all the funny emails she used to send out. We will sorely miss her presence at the garden.
