Stanley Richard Gozdor, resident of Washington Township, died peacefully at William Beaumont Hospital of Troy on June 28, 2020. He was 83 years of age.

Stanley was born on May 23, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan; one of three children of the late Stanley Paul and Helen (Bujak) Gozdor. He was raised in Harrisville, Michigan and was a 1955 graduate of Harrisville High School. Stanley joined the U.S. Army in 1958, proudly serving and was honorably discharged in 1961. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Joyce Ann Soltman, on November 25, 1967 at St. John Lutheran Church of Fraser. The couple was blessed with two wonderful children of whom he loved and cherished. Stanley had an avid interest in researching his family tree and was very successful in his pursuit. He enjoyed fishing and tending to his garden. He always looked forward to playing card games with friends and family. Stanley understood the true value of friendship, adored his family and treasured every moment shared with his grandchildren. He loved the Lord and has won the crown of victory. Stanley will be deeply missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Stanley is the loving and devoted husband of 52 years to Joyce; dearest father of Dawn (Kirt) Hunt and Timothy Gozdor; cherished grandfather of Joshua Tyler and Emily Claire Gozdor; beloved brother of Joseph (Joan) Gozdor and the late Christine Wyns; dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and by many close friends.

A Service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Macomb on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 11am. Family will welcome family and friends starting at 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be addressed to St. Peter Lutheran Church Giving Tree/ Bell Choir. Share memories with family at

We were of course shocked to hear that Stan passed away. He has certainly been through a rough couple of years. But now, we rejoice with you that he is n the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are so sorry to miss the funeral but we have other appointments that day. May God grant you peace that passes all understanding. Hugs and prayers are with you also.
