Obituary

John William Beattie, known to most as Jack, died peacefully June 29, 2020 in his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was 72 years of age.

Jack was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 4, 1948, son of the late Thomas and Rita (Gottschalk) Beattie. He served our country honorably in the U.S.Navy on the USS Liberty in 1967. Jack was united in marriage to his wife, Debra Marie Shuart, on January 22, 1971 at First United Methodist Church of St. Clair Shores. He worked as a Machine Repairman for over 20 years at Bridge Port Machine of Troy; until owning and operating DB2 Machine Repair for many years. He was a longtime member of the CPOA, LVA and the Algonac VFW Post 3901. Jack loved being out on the water, boating. He also enjoyed a nice round of golf and bicycling. He was an avid reader who always looked forward to a good read. Above all, he was a fun, loving and outgoing man who understood the true value of friendship. Jack will be deeply missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Jack is the devoted husband of 49 years to Debbie; dear brother of Joan (Tim) Ignash and Tom (Jennel) Beattie; many cherished nieces and nephews; and great friend to many.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, on Friday from 11am until the time of the full Military Service and Ceremony at 4pm. Please practice social distancing and mask's are recommended out of respect to others. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
