Rick was born on June 15, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Emily (Petros) Bennett. He worked for over thirty years as a metal finisher, first at Patmai and later at Becker Orthopedic. Rick met and married the love of his life, Cathy, on June 28, 1998 in Fraser. Together they enjoyed a joyful union for twenty-two years. Outside of his work, Rick loved to play guitar, bowl (he was a proud 300 game bowler), playing basketball, video games with his nephews, watching racing, and all types of sports. Being a fun loving man, Rick loved taking road trips with Cathy, stopping where they pleased to enjoy their time together. Above all, Rick held his family dear to his heart. He truly loved and cherished his entire family. Rick was a truly courageous man who would let nothing stop him, even into the final days of his life. His smile and kindness will truly be missed by all who knew him, but memories of him will continue on in all who loved him.
Rick is the loving husband of Cathy; cherished brother of Dennis (Sharon) Bennett, Gregory (Rebecca) Bennett, and Deborah (Ronald) Lara; beloved uncle of Kristen, Kathyrn, Erin, Emily, Kelly, Allyson, Tracee, Isobel, Eloise, Ryan, Tony, and Alex; and caring great-uncle of Chase, Caitlin, Cori, Sydney, Meredith, Henry, JD, and Britton. He is also survived by his fur babies, India and Shadow. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
