Barbara Anne Koenders, a 42 year resident of Fraser, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday evening following a long illness and under the care of Michigan Hospice. She was 68 years of age.

We are so saddened of Barbara's passing but we can rejoice in the fact that through Jesus Christ we can be reunited again one day. Barbara was such a blessing to so many. We have many fond memories of our times together at church, playing cards, impromptu lunches and dinners out and especially our after church meals at Vic's Diner. Barbara was strong in her faith and she trusted and praised God in all things. She was an inspiration to us all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dennis and the family in all the days ahead. We love you Barb and you will be truly missed.
With love and blessings,
MIke and Gail Hemme

Barb, I knew you years ago when our kids were school age (or even younger) and I knew your sister Margie even more back then. But in the past few years you came back into our lives in a new and different way, because this time Dennis was with you. And the four of us became good friends and we so enjoyed the fun times we had together (usually involving food, games or serving together). We had some really deep talks too and it was hard when we moved away to Grand Rapids. We could still talk by phone, and we did. But now you have moved too far for that, and I will truly miss our sharing times. My heart breaks for Dennis and Matt and those 3 little girls who won't get to know grandma and hear about how much she loved Jesus (unless mommy and daddy tell them). Her greatest hope was for her faith to become and inspiration to her family and others to seek and find Jesus in their lives too, for He is truly is the Truth and the Life and the way to be reunited for eternity.
God Bless! Hugs!
Gwyn Schwerdtfeger
