Obituary

Wilfred Kulke, a longtime resident of Macomb Township, died peacefully August 6, 2020, at the age of 69. He was born in Royston, England, on August 1, 1951. He is survived by his sister Heide (Tom) Alter and his nephews Eric and Jay Northup. He was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Johanna, and younger brother, Axel.

After a long career at GM Chevrolet, he retired to what he loved best. He was an avid hunter, boater and fisherman, and he could cook an amazing seafood dinner. He especially loved wandering the trails with his beloved Corgi, Winston.

To the end he remained a loyal and generous friend, even insisting on bringing bags of chocolate to the nurses at the chemo center.

The family would like to thank his caregivers Olive, Irma and Cora; who were unfailing in their wonderful and gentle care during his last month. This also includes his nurses from The Care Team Hospice.

Due to Covid concerns there will be no public services. Burial at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery will be Private.

Wil was a great neighbor and friend to me and all others around him. He freely would help me with the lawn care using hie riding lawn mower. We enjoyed boating on lake St. Clair, working on our trucks, and of course Winston. I was the one who bought his old boat(1982 Starcraft SS 160) and restored it. A long time friend of mine now has and loves it. Wil is and will be missed. You have my condolences. Mark Bourdow.

I was sorry to hear of Will’s illness and then his passing. He was a friend of my Steve for many many years. He helped me in many ways after Steve passed. He was a low key nice human being. I hope he and Axel and Steve are now fishing together and may he Rest In Peace. I’m so sorry.
