Thomas Laverne Woodman Jr., former resident of Harrison Township and Naples, Florida, died peacefully January 8, 2021. He was 84 years of age.
Tom was born on September 6, 1936 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, son of the late Thomas Laverne and Dorothy Elizabeth (Vliet) Woodman.
Tom served his country for two years in Vincenza, Italy, had a wonderful sense of humor, greatly enjoyed singing and music. He was avid sailor for most of his life, spent many summers in the Georgian Bay and raced Port Huron to Mackinac more times than we can count. Tom was well-known throughout the sailing community, was affiliated for a number of years with North Star Sail Club and taught others to sail. It was so much of a passion that he started Home Port Yacht sales in 1974 or so.Tom also loved bird hunting with Abba, Jesse and Mishka by his side. His last years were spent in Naples, Florida, where he truly enjoyed living on the golf course and playing every day.
Tom is the loving father of Karen (Alan) Ward, Kathryn, Tom (Aleksa) and Jim Woodman; cherished grandfather of Emily (Ryan) Burns, Evelyn, Caleb, RaeAnne and Ethan; adored Great grandfather of Brayden and Brooklyn; beloved brother of Richard (Cheryl) Woodman, Melody Lane and his late twin Geraldine Elizabeth Doughty; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
