Diane Mary Griffin, resident of Fraser, died peacefully February 11, 2021. She was 65 years of age.
Diane was born on January 26, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of John and Marilyn (Revis) Sims, and grew up in Clinton Township. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Gary James Griffin, on September 20, 1996 at St. John Lutheran Church of Fraser. The couple made their home in Fraser. . Diane retired early after 20 years as a program analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She then obtained a degree in medical coding, graduating Magna Cum Laude and became an inpatient coder for the University of Michigan and Beaumont Hospitals. Diane was intelligent and hard working.. Her greatest joy was traveling around the world with her husband and friends. Diane was a social butterfly who understood the value of friendship and family. She enjoyed cooking, having company over and playing cards. Diane’s family was very important to her and they always came first. She spent many summers at the family home on Lake Skegemog (near Traverse City) cherishing every moment. Diane will always be known for her heart of gold and her love she extended to others. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
Diane is the loving wife of Gary; dearest daughter of John and Marilyn Sims; beloved step-mother of Jason (Cameron) and Emily Griffin; dear grandmother of Ella, Ryan, Alaina and Gavin; cherished sister of John Sims, Dave (Joann) Sims, Kathleen (Ken) Missig and Mark (Connie) Sims; and aunt to many adored nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, from 10am until 11am. Funeral will be celebrated at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to the Alzheimer Association or to St. John Lutheran Church. Share memories at Faulmannwalsh.com
