Obituary
Olga Leona Koenders, resident of Ocala and longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on February 21, 2021. She was 95 years of age.
Olga was born on July 30, 1925 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, daughter of John and Matilda (Kadunc) Rejc. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Roy John Koenders, on April 12, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Roseville. The couple lived in Center Line until making their home in Fraser in 1956. Their union was blessed with six wonderful children of whom she loved and cherished. Olga provided a loving home with Christian values. Her family always came first and was the epitome of a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Olga was the Matron of the Fraser School systems for many years. She was also a member of the Fraser Garden Club. She loved to be outdoors in her garden and she made sure to share the beauty of her fruits of labor to all. She enjoyed playing games and cards with family and friends. Olga had a heart of gold and her smile was infectious. She lived life with purpose and love; and was a role model to her family. Although we grieve, we are truly grateful for our beloved matriarch, Olga Koenders, who taught us to be more compassionate and loving by the life she led. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.
Olga is the devoted wife of the late Roy; dearest mother of Nancy Clarkson, David (Laurel) Koenders, Dennis (the late Barbara) Koenders, Bob (Judy) Koenders, Barb (Jeff) Jones and the late Douglas Koenders; dear mother-in-law of Betty Koenders; cherished grandmother of Debby, Cheryl, Dean, Brent, Ryan, Lindsay, Matt, Naomi, Livia, Madelyn, Kyle, Tyler and the late Sara, Kellee and Justin; adored great grandmother of Felix, Kirsten, Izabel, Rylee, Katie, Chloe, Claire, Alden, Ashley, Ty, Lexie, Elisabeth, Ruby, Ivy, Remy, Vada, Wren and the late Megan; dear sister of Dolores, Mary Jo, Karen, Darleen, Donald and the late John, Eleanor, Victor and James.
Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Sunday from 2pm until the funeral service at 6pm. Monday from 10am until the closing prayers at 11am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be addressed to Pacifica Senior Living, 11311 SW 95th Cir, Ocala, FL 34481 or Kindred Hospice,1320 SE 25th Loop #101, Ocala, FL 34471.
