James Edward Skelton, resident of Clinton Township, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on April 12, 2021. He was 63 years of age.

Jim was born on May 21, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, one of nine children of the late Vincent and Helen (Curley) Skelton. He started a successful career with General Motors; and for 43 dedicated years he as the Employee Assistant Representative. Jim was a leader and an advocate to many not only to his peers but to AA. He was a pillar to his community, helping and encouraging anyone in need. Jim meet a special woman, Reina, who he fell in love with and married on July 17, 1999. He not only gained a mate for life, but three children of whom he loved and cherished. Jim became a family man and treasured every moment of time spent in their company. He loved playing hockey and traveling around on his motorcycle. Jim always looked forward to his trips out west where the skies where opened wide and he could just ride. He impacted so many peoples life along his journey of life; and the love and compassion he extended was a blessing to all.

Jim is the loving husband of Reina; cherished father of Leslie (Matthew) Shirey, Louis Pickner and Robert (Celeste) Skelton; and friend to many.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers and if you would like to donate in his memory, Alzheimer's Association would be a nice choice. Share memories at
