Denine Terese Dostine, known to most as Dee, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 9, 2021. She fought a courageous battle and now has won victory with her Lord and Savior. She was 62 years of age.

Dee was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on September 21, 1958, and raised in Fraser Michigan, daughter of Denis and Constance (Smolinski) Dostine. Her personality was larger than life, which led her to the restaurant industry. Dee was the Manager of Gabriel's Lounge for 17 years. She was always true to herself, never changed who she was for anyone and we all knew where we stood with Dee. She made the best stuffed cabbage and shared it with many. She enjoyed writing poetry and loved gardening. Dee always looked forward to her trips to the casino and walked away lucky many times. She will always be known for her smile that would light up the room and her hardworking and self-sufficient ways. Although we grieve her passing, we are truly grateful for our beautiful Dee who taught us to live life with purpose, with love and compassion. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Dee is the loving daughter of Connie and the late Denis; cherished sister of David (Helen) Dostine, Debra (Mark) Zelek, Dona (Fred) MacAuley, Daniel Dostine, Anthony (Linda) Dostine; Patricia (Gjon) Gjokaj and Barbara (Mike) Russell; and adored aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Private services were held and a Celebration of Dee's life will be celebrated this summer. Please keep the family in your prayers and you may send condolence to In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Dee, my heart is broken to know you have departed this life at such a young age, and have left an indelible void within your family of loved ones, including your friends. Although I have not physically had the pleasure to visit with you in quite a long time, simply knowing you are no longer on Earth, in your physical form, brings sadness to me. I have been thinking of you for the past several days - your smile, quick wit, dedication to your family and friends is resonating with me. Dee, you are part of the most wonderful family and all will greatly miss you. I consider each one a friend and I love you all. I pray that God will bring healing to your entire family, especially your beautiful mom. Until we meet again - I pray that God has reunited you with your dad and will wrap you both in everlasting love.

On behalf of the Capuchin brothers I offer my deepest sympathies on the passing of Denine. It is truly humbling to receive memorial donations in honor of Denine's life. Please be assured of the brother's prayers for the entire Dostine family during this great time of grief. May perpetual light shine upon Denine.

I will always remember Dee from my childhood as someone who was an independent thinker and made no apologies for it. She did things her way and didn’t let anyone stop her from being herself. She was fearless.

She always made me laugh, even though I was just some annoying, dumb little kid getting in the way. But, she never made me feel that way. She treated me like anyone else.

Sending all of my love to the family and friends who loved Dee so very dearly. Wishing all of you strength, healing, and peace. You will all be in my thoughts.
